KATHMANDU: The winners of the second Corporate Snooker Tournament were awarded amidst a ceremony on Saturday. Suman Gurung was the winner and the highest breaker and Cristopher Ligutan runner-up of the tournament, which was organised by Annapurna Post in association with Radisson Hotel. Ravin Lama, MD, News Media Pvt Ltd; Rakesh Adukia, MD, Krishi Premura; DVSSV Prasad, executive director, Everest Bank Ltd; and BK Shrestha, MD, Radisson Hotel gave away prizes. Everest Bank and Himalayan Distillery were the main sponsors and Krishi Premura the co-sponsor. — HNS

Rajak bereaved :

KATHMANDU: FIFA referee Dilip Rajak was bereaved of his mother, Surya Maya Rajak, who died on Saturday morning. Surya Maya, 73, was suffering form various diseases since a long time. She is survived by five sons, three daughters and grand children including Sangeet Rajak, goalkeeper of Nepal’s U-23 football team that is taking part in the 10th South Asian Games from August 14. — HNS

Baluwatar win :

KATHMANDU: Baluwatar Cricket Academy defeated a team of Twenty Twenty Cricket Federation of India by 30 runs at Birendra Sainik School grounds. Batting first, BCA scored 121/9 in 30 overs riding on opener Suman Uday’s 30 runs and Deepak Cheetri’s 21. In reply, the visitors were packed for 91 runs in 26.1 overs. Ashwani (24) and Bipin (22) were the batsmen who reached the double-figure mark. Man of the match Raj Shrestha and Rom Shrestha took three wickets each for BCA. — HNS
