Play abandoned

NAPIER: No play was possible because of rain on the third day of the third Test between New Zealand and the West Indies on Monday, leaving Runako Morton stranded 30 runs from a maiden Test century. Heavy overnight rain left parts of the outfield at McLean Park under water and umpires Mark Benson of England and Ian Howell of South Africa ruled that conditions would not improve sufficiently to allow play to begin. — AP
