KATHMANDU: Sonam Sherpa beat Sanju Bajracharya to claim the college-level ladies singles title in the fifth Purnaman Bajracharya Memorial Table Tennis Tournament. Likewise, Pradip Rokka beat Ashish Shrestha to win the school-level U-12 title. Yopesh Pradhan beat Santosh Ojha in the final of the Inter-media tournament. — HNS

Bowlers’ report

KATHMANDU: Nepali bowling team that participated in the 33rd Penang Pesta International Bowling Championship held in December 10-18 in Malaysia, presented its report to National Sports Council. Raju Shrestha had finished 28th and Karma Ghale 43rd in the championship, which was participated in by 400 bowlers. Nepal was the sole representation from the South Asian region. — HNS

Athletics, volleyball

KATHMANDU: The Inter-regional School-level National Athletics and Volleyball tournament is slated for February 22-22. A toatl of 28 events will be held in the athletics apart from boys’ and girls’ volleyball. Athletics events will be held at Dasharath Stadium while volleball will take place at Jawalakhel Training Centre. — HNS
