National Marathon

KATHMANDU: The preparations of the National Open Marathon, slated for Saturday, have been completed. In all, 62 athletes from Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police, Gyanendra Armed Police Force Officers’ Club, five development regions and other associations, are taking part in the men’s 42.195-km race, while 25 runners are taking part in the women’s half marathon, said the organisers, Nepal Athletics Association and Rastriya Banijya Bank, in a release. Both the events will start and end at RBB Central Office at Singhadurbar. — HNS

Matches postponed

KATHMANDU: The three Martyrs’ Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League matches, RCT vs Boys’ Union Club, Manang Marsyangdi Club vs APF at Dasharath Stadium and NRT vs Bouddha at Halchowk, scheduled for Friday have been postponed due to the curfew imposed by the government. The ANFA rescheduled the matches for Saturday. — HNS
