Open Squash tourney

KATHMANDU: Ananta Keshar Singh, Prem Singh and Kabir Chitrakar entered the quarter-finals of the master’s singles event at the Open Squash tournament. Bhawana Sunuwar, Chhitiz Gurung and Rupa Sunuwar registered wins in women’s singles while Prabesh Maharjan, Gyanu Choudhary and Sushil Simkhada also won in men’s singles. — HNS

All Nepal Karate

KATHMANDU: Gurjudhara Shin Kyukoshin Karato Do is organising the All Nepal Full Contact Kyukoshin Karate Championship on Saturday. Around 150 players, including 50 from districts, are expected to take part in the one-day event, which was originally scheduled for last Saturday, said the organisers at a press meet today. The tournament features two weight categories — Above 55kg and Below 55kg. — HNS

Asia Cup postponed

NEW DELHI: The six-nation Asia Cup tournament will be held in Pakistan in September next year, the ACC said. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held next month but was put off at India’s request to enable their players to rest between two important series against Pakistan and England. Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the UAE and Oman will take part in the Asia Cup. — AFP
