Bouddha Club win

KATHMANDU: Bouddha Youth Club defeated Mahavir Club 4-2 in the final of the sixth Sanogaucharan Knock-out Football Tournament here today. Ranjit Lama, Gopal Thapa, Bishnu KC and Milan Gurung scored for Bouddha, while Som Lama netted bot the goals for Mahavir. The winners received Rs 11,000, and the runners-up Rs 5,000. Som Lama was declared the player of the tournament. Ganesh Thapa, president of ANFA, gave away prizes to the winners of the 10-team tournament organised by Sanogaucharan Youth Club. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Nava Jyoti and TIA entered the round of 16 from Group A at the Kathmandu Districtwide Inter-school Basketball Tournament here today. Other who advanced are RIBS, Bhanubhakta (Group B), Holy Garden, Jenith (Group C), Young Heart, Valley Public (Group D), Jagat Man-dir, Cambridge (Group E), Wilson, Swapna Vatika (Group F), Shreediwa, Gyan Niketan (Group G), and Suryodaya, Sunrise (Group H). On Saturd-ay, Jagat Mandir defeated Cambridge 30-22; Swapna Vatika beat Mount Gl-ory 36-28; and Valley Public and Gyan Niketan earned walk overs. — HNS
