Lalitpur, May 31

Tribhuvan Army Club and Saraswoti Youth Club recorded wins in the Lalit Memorial U-18 Football Tournament here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.

TAC thrashed Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club 5-1 in Group B match, while Saraswoti edged past Rum Pum Jhapa-XI 3-2 in Group A. Prejen Tamang put TAC ahead in the 20th minute before Dinesh Yonjan doubled the tally in the 62nd minute. Dorje Tamang netted third goal for TAC after five minutes.

However, MMC’s Aditya Shakya cut the deficit in the 74th minute before MMC’s Ram Dhakal scored an own goal in the 74th minute. Roman Limbu made it 5-1 for TAC in the 90th minute.

In Group A, Rohan Thapaliya opened the scoring for Saraswoti in the 45th minute and Dipak Ghising found the back of the nets in the 64th minute to double the advantage.

Saraswoti’s Sujan Shrestha made it 3-0 in the 67th minute before Jhapa’s Ajay Danwar scored in the 70th minute and Sabin Thapa Magar netted in the injury time of second half.

On Thursday, Jagadamba Lumbini FC will play against Jawalakhel Youth Club in Group C match, while second match will be played between CMG Club Sankata and Brigade Boys Club in Group D.
