TAC to lock horn with Jhapa-XI in Falgunanda Gold Cup final today

PACHTHAR: Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Jhapa-XI are facing each other in the final match of 10th Ruslan Falgunanda Gold Cup being held in Pachthar district today.

The final match will start at 2:00 pm in Phidim, the district headquarters.

The week-long tournament jointly organised by Phidim sporting club and Panchthar District Football Association, that started from January 5 is coming to an end today, the organisers informed.

The TAC defeated Royal FC of Darjeeling 2-1 to enter the final while Jhapa-XI defeated Saraswati Youth Club 1-0.

The football tournament which is being held in memory of national luminary Falgunanda Lingden, the aspiring figure behind new Kirant religion, is hosted annually according to the calendar of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

This year’s winner will bag a cash prize of Rs 400,000 while the runner-up will receive a prize of 200,000.

Both the finalists will be awarded trophies, medals and certificates.
