MADRID: Spanish football authorities have agreed a two-year contract extension with coach Vivente del Bosque taking him through till 2012.

"That's the rule with us - a two year extension for those who secure us qualification," said Spanish Football Federation president Angel Maria Villar referring to Spain's comfortable qualification for the World Cup in South Africa next year.

The 59-year-old Del Bosque took over from Luis Aragones after Spain won the Euro 2008 title - and has lost just one game since then, against the United States in the Confederations Cup.
