U-15 team announced
Kathmandu, November 21:
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) today announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming ACC Under-15 Elite Cup cricket tournament slated here for November 25 to December 4.
Prithu Baskoto will captain the Nepali side. Others in the team includes Aakash Singh Pariyar, (vice-captain) Sagar Pun, Bibek Dali, Pradeep Singh Airee, Rochak Bhatta, Prajesh Bahadur Singh, Sameer Nepal, Sunil Sunar, Krishna Sen, Bhuwan Karki, Nischal Singh Chaudhary, Nirmal Karki and Rakesh Baria. Aasish Singh, Ajay Rasaili, Gokul Joshi and Raju Thapa Magar were named as reserves.
National team coach Roy Luke Dias of Sri Lanka was named the team coach and Suresh Dutta Pandey his assistant. Binod Raj Rajbhandari is the team manager.
Apart from the hosts, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Oman and Singapore will fight for the championship. The tournament will be played in four venues — T U Stadium (Kirtipur), Laboratory School Grounds (Kirtipur), Pulchowk Engineering Grounds (Lalitpur) and Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya Grounds (Bhaktapur).
Two-time defending champion Nepal will open the defence of their title against Malaysia at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Stadium on November 25.
