Kathmandu, October 13:

Nobel Academy, the Nepali Under-17 team, defended its Subroto Mukherjee Cup Inter-school Football Tournament title with a 5-0 thumping victory over Tripura in New Delhi today.

Chetan Ghimire put the Nepali team ahead in the third minute before Bharat Khawas doubled the tally in the 12th minute. Skipper Nirajan Malla made it 3-0 in the 43rd minute whereas Chetan scored his second and team’s fourth goal in the 53rd minute. Roshan Karki joined the party when he completed the rout in the 54th minute.

The Nepali team also bagged the prize money of IRS 50,000. Nepali team coach Kishor KC was adjudged the best coach. On Thursday, another Nepali team won the Under-14 championship beating Punjab team 1-0. The annual tournament was organised by Subroto Mukherjee Education Foundation.
