KATHMANDU: Unique Academy defeated NIMS 70-41 in the final of the first Inter-school Boys’ Basketball Tournament organised by Reliance International Academy under the sponsorship of Alpha Tours and Travels on Saturday. Unique took a 19-13 lead in the first quarter and added 20 more in the second restricting NIMS to just four points. Unique lost the third quarter 10-13, but came back in the last, scoring 19 to that of 11 from NIMS. Bikash Gurung of NIMS top scored with 22 points, while Chhiring Sherpa netted 11 for NIMS. Jubal Ghale was named the most valuable player of the tournament. Lama Tenci Sherpa, President of Nepal Basketball Association, gave away prizes.
