KATHMANDU: Valley public and Pushpa Sadan won the titles of the Brihaspati Cup Inter-school Mini Basketball Tournament here on Friday.

Valley Public won the girls' category title and Pushpa Sadan claimed the boys' section trophy.

In girls' category final, Valley Public  saw off Chandbagh, 19-17 riding on Sumina tamang's eight points.

Earlier, Valley Public beat Shridiwa 30-6 and Chandbagh defeated LRI 18-8in the semi-final matches.

In boys' final, Pushpa Sadan outplayed Angels' Heart 21-13 in which Dilshan Maharjan scored eight points for the winners.

Earlier, Pushpa Sadan defeated Swarnim 36-3and Angels' Heart recorded a 39-18 win against Baba School. Divya Gurung of Chandbagh and Sagar Pariyar of Angel's Heart were named the Most Valuable Players of the tournament.

Brihaspati VidyaSadan President Purushottam Raj Joshi and Principal Suman Thing Lama among others handed over the prizes to the winner.

A total of 24 teams-12 each in boys and girls categories-took part in the event.
