Valley Public sneaked past Kathmandu Valley 28-27 in the boys’ section match during the third Kwik’s Greenland Inter-school Basketball Tournament here today. Chhiring Ghale topscored with 14 points for Kathmandu Valley while Sandeep Thapa contributed eight for Valley Public.

In other boys’ section matches, Triyog High School beat Ideal English School 22-11 riding on seven points by Prithvi while Arunodaya humiliated Gyankunja 24-4. Also, Mount Glory overcame a strong challenge from Trungram International Academy 42-40, thanks to 16 points from Arun. Ashish KC netted 16 alone as Greenland defeated Venus School 37-23 in another boys’ section match.

In the girls’ section, Valley Public cruised to a 23-5 win over Ideal English School with Samichhya Bista contributing 14 points for the winners. Likewise, Suryodaya edged past Triyog 22-5 as Meralini Shrestha netted 12 points. In the last match of the girls’ section, Prithvi School overcame Greenland 11-8.
