VS Niketan thrash Shining Star; Bouddha win

VS Niketan School, Pawan Prakriti School, Bal Gitanjali School and Bouddha English Secondary School registered victories in the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school Football Tournament here at the Sano Gaucharan grounds today.
In the day’s first match of the district-wide tournament, VS Niketan hammered Shining Star School 7-0 riding on a hat-trick from Prasiddha Khadka. Anish opened the scoring for VS Niketan in the third minute of the match before Khadka scored in the 21st and 33rd minutes to go into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.
An own goal from Shining Star’s Raj Gurung in the 37th minute gave VS Niketan the 4-0 lead. Milan Katwal then scored his first goal in the 55th minute before Khadka completed his hat-trick two minutes later. Katwal then completed the rout with his second goal in the 62nd minute.
In another match, Pawan Prakriti outplayed Dreamland Higher Secondary School 6-0. Bishal Rai put Pawan Prakriti ahead in the 11th minute before Rajan Nakarmi struck in the 47th and 49th minutes to make it 3-0. Anil Dorje then found the nets in the 55th minute, while Bijay Rai scored the last two goals in the 67th and injury time to seal the comprehensive victory.
Likewise, Bal Gitanjali defeated Pragati Boarding Higher Secondary School 4-2 on penalties after both the teams were deadlocked at 1-1 in the regulation period of
70 minutes. Suraj Kuinkel had put Bal Gitanjali ahead with a goal in the 12th minute before Karma Lama replied for Pragati six minutes later.
In the day’s last match, Padam Raj Lama scored a hat-trick as Bouddha edged past Manakamana English School 3-1. Lama put Bouddha ahead in the 28th minute before Sajan Tamang levelled the scores for Manakamana five minutes later. After the break, Lama restored the lead in the 45th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute.
