Western, APF win

POKHARA: Western Region and Nepal APF Club won the titles of the National Handball Tournament here on Saturday.

Western won men’s category title, while APF came first in women’s section.

In the men’s final, Western beat Tribhuvan Army Club 29-25. APF defeated Central Region 63-29 to finish third.

In women’s final, APF saw off TAC 24-15, while Eastern outplayed Western 18-14 to finish third.

Top three teams in both categories received Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Western’s Hemant Thapa Magar and Uma Rai of APF were named the best players of the tournament.

Similarly, APF’s Deepak Singh Bohara, who scored 48 goals, and TAC’s Shanti Kala Rai, who netted 28 goals, were the highest scorers.
