Western in last four
BHAIRAHAWA: Western Cricket Club defeated defending champions New Horizon Cricket Club by 53 runs to enter the semi-finals of the Nepal Telecom Rupandehi Super League Cricket League here on Tuesday.
In the 40-over-a-side match played at the Siddhartha Stadium, Western were bowled out for 131 in 26.5 overs before New Horizon were packed for 78 runs in 18.3 overs. Bikram Bhusal top scored for Western with 34, while Devendra Somare (16), Adil Khan (15), Kiran Pandey (14) and skipper Rahul BK (14) contributed in double figures. Bishal Sunar was the pick of the New Horizon bowlers taking four wickets, while Rahul Prajapati and Ganesh Gaudel claimed two each.
In reply, Bishal Khatri (26) was the lone New Horizon batsman to reach double-digit mark. Somare, Khan and man-of-the-match Bhusal took three wickets each for Western.
