LALITPUR: Western Region stunned Nepal APF Club 3-2 in the third-place playoff match of the second CoAS National Men’s Volleyball Tournament at the Nepali Army Sports Complex on Thursday.

Western registered a 25-22 victory in the first set before APF levelled the scored by winning the next set 25-22. Western regained the lead with a 25-17 win in the third set, while APF hit back to claim the competitive fourth set 29-27.

In the deciding fifth set, Western prevailed 15-13 to claim the third position. Defending champions Tribhuvan Army Club will play against Nepal Police Club in Friday’s final.

Top three teams will earn Rs 300,000, Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively, while the best player of the tournament will get a Pulsar bike. Likewise, best spiker, blocker, defender, lifter and coach will earn Rs 10,000 each.
