White House, Don Bosco in third KCC trophy final

Man of the match Prem Choudhary scored a half century as defending champions Himalayan White House International College (HWHIC) beat ACME Engineering College by 56 runs and Kathmandu Don Bosco College defeated Eastern Engineering College (EEC) by nine wickets and entered the final of the third KCC Running Trophy Inter-college Cricket Tournament, here at IoE grounds today. The nine-day event has been organised by KCC Sports Club and The Himalayan Times is the official media for the tournament. Electing to bat first, HWHIC scored 154 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs. Prem Choudhary top-scored with 51 off 31 balls, which included three fours and three sixes. Santosh Jaiswal scored 44 off 34 balls and Rejan Karmacharya contributed 20 runs. For ACME, Suman Kandel pocketed three wickets giving away seven runs in four overs, whereas Dhirendra Mishra, Atit Shrestha and Prashant Pradhan claimed one wicket each.
In reply, ACME failed to reach the target and could muster only 98 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs. For HWHIC Lakpa Lama grabbed three wickets and Ashim Sibedi claimed two.
Earlier, EEC scored 86 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Kushal Tuladhar scored 24 off just 15 balls, which included two boundaries and a huge six and Rabin Pokharel contributed 13 off 19 balls. For Don Bosco, man of the match Arjun Rayamajhi took three wickets conceding eight runs in four overs. Ashish Gupta claimed two whereas Ritesh Thapa and Bishal Thapa grabbed one wicket apiece. In reply, Kathmandu Don Bosco overcame the target losing one wicket in 14 overs. Bishal Thapa and Monish Shrestha remained unbeaten on 34 and 33 runs respectively. Shrestha hit three boundaries while Thapa slammed three hits to the ropes and two sixes. For Eastern Engineering College, Tarun Upadhyaya claimed the only wicket to fall dismissing Daniel Shrestha in four overs.
