Pavel Nedved is the Czech Republic’s undisputed superstar. A stellar career has seen him pick up practically every honour the game has to offer, so it comes as a surprise to learn he is poised for a first-ever appearance at the World Cup finals.
The goal-getting dynamo, the hard-running and skilful midfielder was an instant hit in Italy before Juventus signed him in 2001. He extended his already-impressive medal collection leading the ‘Old Lady’ of Italian football to a series of domestic honours. The 2002/03 campaign was memorable as Nedved played a key role in Juve defended their Serie A title and their charge to the Champions League final.

Milan Baros has earned himself a reputation as one of European football’s hottest striking talents. Lightning quick, two-footed and prodigiously skilful, Baros provides the perfect foil for forward line. Following a string of triumphs on the European stage, Baros is now determined to leave an indelible mark on the global scene with his performances at the World Cup in Germany. Baros began his career with Czech top-flight outfit Banik Ostrava before Liverpool signed him in November 2001. Baros initially spent most of his time on the bench buit he was an important part after the 2002/03 season.
