Nepal Wrestling Association is organising the 13th Men’s and Women’s National Wrestling Tournament under the NSC Championship here at Hupra Chaur from Thursday.

A total of 78 wrestlers — 56 men and 22 women — from 26 districts and three departmental teams will compete in the event, informed NWA General Secretary Biddha Sagar Pokharel here today.

The tournament features 57kg, 61kg, 65kg, 68kg, 70kg, 74kg, 97kg and 125kg weight categories in men’s section, while the women’s section includes 45kg, 48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 60kg, 63kg, 69kg and 75kg weight categories. The estimated budget of the tournament is Rs 1.3 million.

Meanwhile, Nepal Hockey Association is set to organise the 17th Men’s and second Women’s National Hockey Tournament at the Institute of Forestry in Hetauda from January 15.

Five regions and Tribhuvan Army Club will compete in both men and women categories of the tournament, informed tournament coordinator Rajendra Pathak at a press meet. The estimated budget of the event is Rs 1.5 million.
