LALITPUR: Xavier International College advanced to the quarter-finals of the Akhil Cup Inter-college Football Tournament here at the FIFA Technical Centre in Chyasal today.

In the Group 'C' match, Xavier eased past Sun Shine College 3-0 to secure their place in the last eight. Manish Lama provided the 18th minute lead before Bikram Lama extended their lead in the 46th minute. And 11 minutes later Bibhushan KC found the back of the net to round up a comprehensive win for the Xavier International.

Earlier in a lopsided match, Prakash Shahi and Suraj Budhapriti scored five goals each as Pinnacle College thrashed Koteshwor 14-0. Shahi opened the goal scoring spree in the fourth minute and added four more in the 10th, 14th, 26th and 55th minute. Budhapriti scored in 12th, 43rd, 60th, 65th and 68th minutes. Keshav Sherchan also joined in, striking twice (27th, 55th), while Ramesh Shahi (29th) and Basnata Gurung (47th) added one goal apiece.

In the third match, tournament favourites Golden Gate College defeated Pentagon College 3-0. ANFA Academy product Ganesh Khadka gave Golden Gate the lead in the 19th minute and Bishal Rai scored in the 42nd minute. Ravi Thapa completed the rout scoring in the 45th minute.
