Xavier International College and Himalayan Hounds recorded victory in the Kwik’s Basketball League here today.

Xavier defeated Team Budhanilkantha Municipality 82-73 riding on Ajay Kushwaha’s 21 points. This is first victory for Xavier in eight matches.

Xavier claimed first two quarters by narrow margins of 13-12 and 20-19 but they opened up with a 13-point lead after taking the third period 27-16. Although, Budhanilkantha claimed fourth quarter 26-22 but they failed to avert the defeat.

Anish Magar and Binesh Neupane netted 16 points each for Xavier, while Budhanilkantha’s Utsav Chand scored 32 points and Biraj Rana contributed 16 points with four assists.

Similarly, Himalayan Hounds beat South Siders 65-59 in which Saurav Shrestha netted 30 points.

Himalayan took first quarter 20-14 but South Siders came strongly to win the second quarter 24-12. Himalayan claimed third quarter 21-8 before South Siders took the fourth period 13-12.

Himalayan’s Bijay Burja netted 16 points and Manish KC scored 12 points. Similarly, South Siders’ Sanjay Byanjankar netted 15 points and Avi Rajkarnikar contributed 12 points.
