Yang honoured
SINGAPORE: South Korea’s Yang Yong-Eun, the first Asian to win a Major, has accepted honorary membership from the Asian Tour, becoming the fourth player to receive the recognition. Yang joins compatriot KJ Choi, Vijay Singh of Fiji and India’s Jeev Milkha Singh in the exclusive club, with the award given for outstanding achievements and contributions towards professional golf in Asia. “I’m honoured to receive this recognition from the Asian Tour as I never expected it. But at the same time, I’m thankful. It is a great privilege for me,” said Yang, who won the US PGA Championship in August.
