Yangal crush KKM

Kathmandu, May 8 :

Yangal Cricket Club registered a comprehensive 126-run win over Kathmandu Khel Mandal (KKM) in the Yeti Air Cup Region No 3 selection cricket tournament, which has been organised by Kathmandu Cricket Association, here on Monday.

Put into bat first, Yangal Cricket Club scored 170 runs losing seven wickets in the rain-shortened 30-over-a-side match. In reply, KKM were paced for 44 runs in 17.2 overs.

Laxman Pradhan top-scored with 70 off 81 balls for the winning team while Sarad Pradhan scored 20 off 28 balls. Ram Pradhan and Birendra Shah also contributed 19 runs each.

Suraj Basnet claimed four wickets for KKM. Niraj Basnet (16) was the only bastman to reach double figure mark for KKM. Prakash Thapa, Samrat Amatya and Gyanendra Malla took two wickets each for Yangal .

Four teams from the Region No 3 (Kathmandu) — Mahabir Club, Yangal, Baluwatar Cricket Club and KKM — are participating in the tournament. Top two teams will advance for the final.
