Khanidanda Airport resumes flights after a month

KHOTANG: The Manamaya Rai Khanidanda Airport in Khotang district, which had halted operation due to bad weather for the past one month, has resumed flights.

Mostly, patients referred from the District Hospital, have been benefited after the resumption of air service.

Manamaya Rai Khanidanda Airport Chief Yadavsen Rai said that regular flights have been brought into operation after the improvement in weather.

The Nepal Airlines Corporation has been operating Kathmandu-Khanidanda-Kathmandu flights on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday while Biratnagar-Khanidanda-Biratnagar on Tuesday and Friday.

Similarly, Tara and Goma airlines have also been operating the air service there.

There are three airports in the district—Lamidanda, Thamkharka and Khanudanda.

Of them, Thamkharka Airport has been closed since second week of June.
