KATHMANDU: A 13-year-old girl was brutally murdered after being raped in Bhimdattanagar, Kanchanpur.

A resident of of Ultakham, Bhimdutta Municipality-2, the girl had gone missing on Thursday. On the same day, the young victim had left for her friend’s house, some two kilometres away from her own, to study. She spent almost three hours at her friend’s place before leaving for home.

But she never made it back.

The teen’s body was found a day later, on Friday morning — bruised, lifeless and half clothed. Since discovering the girl’s body in such a state, her kin along with the locals have been demanding that the police investigate into this case and identify the culprit.
