Bajura youth decapitates father over minor dispute

MARTADI: A youth has been arrested after he allegedly hacked his father to death with an axe at a remote village in Bajura district of far-western Nepal, police said.

Police Inspector Sudam Rawal said 22-year-old Lokesh Chadara has confessed the crime that took place in Gudukhati-4 of the district.

In a fit of anger, Chadara first attacked his 60-year-old father Nath Chadara with a spade and then hit him on neck with an axe that beheaded him, according to Rawal.

It has been learned that a minor dispute. which has not been specified, led to the cold-blooded murder on Sunday during their morning meal.

Locals informed the police about the incident after figuring out that Lokesh murdered his father and was preparing to dump the body in a nearby river.

Police then went to the village and arrested the suspect yesterday evening. He has been brought to the District Police Office in Martadi.

The body has been to the District Hospital for autopsy.

Earlier, it was suspected that Lokesh suffered from mental disease. But medical examinations showed he was normal.
