Four Nepali para swimmers are putting in the strokes ahead of the Para Asian Games, chasing what could be only Nepal's second-ever medal - after Palesha Goverdhan's historic 2024 bronze in taekwondo.
Each carries a different story of survival - Srijana Sarki after a landslide, Harkaman Gharti after losing both hands to an electric shock, Jenisha Kathayat after losing a leg, and Member Singgi Syangbo after a road accident that cost him a leg.
Their coach Subash Shrestha says they have what it takes but not what they need - no dedicated pool, no steady funding, and gaps in physiotherapy and recovery.
Still, they train daily on willpower alone. Their bodies have changed - but their dream to represent Nepal hasn't.
