1 dead after small plane goes off Massachusetts runway
WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETT: Authorities say pilot has died after his small plane crashed during takeoff at a Massachusetts airport.
The aircraft went off the runway at Worcester Regional Airport shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday and crashed into a wooded area.
State police said the pilot was pronounced dead after the crash. His name was not immediately released.
The pilot was the only occupant of the plane. Other details including the type of aircraft involved were not immediately known.
State police say investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Worcester District Attorney's office would be on scene.
