3 killed in J&K attack

Three people were killed and five others injured today when Islamic militants attacked the income tax office in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar, witnesses and police said. paramilitary officer told AFP that one or two militants stormed the office compound, killing a paramilitary trooper and a policeman. One militant was also killed in the attack.

Four security force personnel and an income tax official were also injured in the attack, which continued after dark.
