50 needles inside boy

BRASILIA: Brazilian doctors say they have found as many as 50 sewing needles in the body of a two-year-old boy and will operate soon to remove most of them. But Dr Luiz Cesar Soltoski says some needles will stay inside the boy from northeastern Brazil because they are close to his liver and removal would be dangerous. Police are trying to determine how the needles got into the boy. Soltoski believes they were stuck into his body one by one. The mother has told police she doesn’t know how the needles got there. Some of the needles are stuck in the boy’s lungs and doctors on Wednesday were waiting for his breathing to improve so they can operate. The boy was admitted to a hospital on Sunday.
