Berlusconi to curb public acts

MILAN: Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi will leave hospital on Wednesday, under doctor's orders to halt "important" public activities for two weeks, his personal physician said on Tuesday.

"Physically, he is eating normally, but with a bit of difficulty," the doctor, Alberto Zangrillo, told reporters. "In terms of morale, it's still a matter of concern ... but he is showing signs of recovery."

Berlusconi, 73, suffered a broken nose and lost half a litre of blood on Sunday when he was hit in the face with a souvenir model of a cathedral after a political rally in Milan.
