Queen Elizabeth of Britain had passed away. The longest-reigning monarch of Britain apparently 'passed away peacfully' at her home in Scotland aged 96.
She was the head of state of the country for over seven decades.
"The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon," a statement issued by the Buckingham palace read, adding, "The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."

Charles, 73, the eldest born child of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip becomes the king automatically on her demise. He will be styled the king of United Kingdom as well as the head of state of 14 other realms including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Charles' wife Camilla will become the Queen Consort.
