Bangkok, May 28:

A couple survived a nine-storey fall from the top floor of a Bangkok apartment block onto the roof of a car after a lover’s spat, Thai media reported today. Witnesses said the pair’s plunge was broken by trees before they struck the roof of a Honda sedan which crumpled beneath them, The Nation newspaper said. Akradej Thiradedejchananant, 41, was reportedly being treated in a Bangkok hospital for multiple bone fractures while his wife Busaba, 25, had been put in a torso cast with minor injuries after landing on top of her husband.

Neighbours were quoted as saying the couple had been having a heated argument before the fall yesterday. Busaba denied she had been fighting with her husband but offered no further explanation for the fall during which she was knocked unconscious.
