Indian coast guard seizes Iranian boat
NEW DELHI: Indian officials say they have seized an Iranian fishing boat off the country's southern coast and arrested 12 crew members. Top Kerala state police officer TP Senakumar said the Iranian crew members were being questioned for possible smuggling and breach of India's national security, but he declined to give details. Sitanshu Kar, India's defence ministry spokesman, said the boat was intercepted and seized on Sunday morning by the coast guard. India Today magazine said coast guard officials found one satellite phone and a Pakistani ID on the boat.
Three troops killed
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistani intelligence officials say a roadside bomb attack has killed three paramilitary soldiers and injured six others in the North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border. Two intelligence officials say the bomb planted near the village of Raghzai detonated as a military convoy drove past on Sunday. Pakistani security forces are engaged in a massive operation against militants in North Waziristan and other tribal regions. The tribal regions along the Afghan border have served for decades as safe haven for local and foreign militants.
