Irans missile projects

TEHRAN: A commander of the Revolutionary Guard says Iran is planning to inaugurate several new missile projects early next month. Gen Masoud Jazayeri made the comments on Tuesday but didn't provide details on the projects. His remarks were carried by the semiofficial Fars news agency. Two other semiofficial news agencies, Mehr and ISNA, said Iran would also launch three new communication and experimental satellites at the same time as it introduces the missile projects. Iran has missiles with a range of about 1,250 miles, or 2,000 km, that are capable of targeting Israel and U.S. bases in the region. Every February Tehran inaugurates new projects to coincide with the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution which deposed a Western-backed monarchy.
