Thirteen years after ordering their unceremonious withdrawal, Sri Lanka is set to honour Indian soldiers who died fighting Tamil separatists by building a monument to them.

“We want the whole of India to know we deeply appreciate their sacrifices and the whole country supports the building of the monument,” Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mangala Moonesinghe said.
