Bhopal: As millions around the globe looked to the heavens today to watch Venus transit over the Sun, a village in Madhya Pradesh had a quiet moment of astronomical glory when it came closest to the planet. Obaidullahgunj, a settlement in Raisen district, would go down in history as being the closest point to Venus when it travelled over the Sun after 122 years.The proximity was not noticeable from the village of Obaidullahgunj. —HNS
