A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper shot himself dead outside parliament today in an apparent case of suicide.

Sources in CRPF said trooper Vipul Shah shot himself in the chest. “He was dead on arrival,” a doctor at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital said. “A little before 8 a.m., a bus carrying CRPF troopers arrived outside the parliament building. All the jawans got out, but Vipul Shah remained inside,” a security official at Parliament House said. “A gunshot was then heard. He was found bleeding and rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead,” the officials added.
