CG Shelter Project gathers momentum
KATHMANDU: Chaudhary Foundation has expedited construction of ‘Transitional Homes’ for the victims of devastating earthquake under the CG Shelter Project for Earthquake Victims.
Construction of these transitional homes is underway in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts, as per press release issued today.
“Site selection has been completed in Gorkha, Dhading, Kavre and Sindhupalchowk districts.”
Construction of these homes was started following the foundation’s commitment to construct 1,000 transitional homes for the quake victims. Construction of 70 homes has reached final phase in Machhegaun of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu district and the completed homes will be handed over within a week, as per the release.
“We have started construction of 76 homes in Burungchuli and Lokundole areas of Karyavinayak Municipality in Lalitpur district and plan to hand them over to the locals within 15 days.” Construction of 60 homes in Changunarayan of Bhaktapur district has also started and the homes will be completed within next 15 days.
“We will soon begin construction of 200 homes in Dolalghat and 114 homes in Madevsthan-9, Jhagarpur of Kavre district.”
Meanwhile, sites have been selected in Bhachu, Simalgairi, and Belghari villages of Gorkha district; in Bhusal, Bungkot, Kumpur, and Nepal villages in Dhading; and Bhimtar village of Sindhupalchowk.
