Today, the Himalayan region will see light to moderate rain or snow with thunder and lightning at scattered places. The Hilly and Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and parts of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim will also face widespread showers. Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two locations in Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini, raising concerns of flooding and landslides.
Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini will remain mostly cloudy, while Karnali and Sudurpashchim will be generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain or snow is expected in the Himalayan belts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and parts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki's Hilly regions, with extremely heavy rainfall possible at isolated locations.
The monsoon trough is currently positioned slightly north of its average track, hovering near the Terai belt. This shift is intensifying rainfall activity across the country, particularly in flood-prone and landslide-risk areas.
