SAARC ministers in town for regional meet

KATHMANDU: Representatives from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have arrived in the Capital to take part in the seventh meeting of the SAARC Finance Ministers to be held on Thursday.

Mohammad Ishaq Dar (Finance Minister of Pakistan), Abul Maal Abdul Muhith (Finance Minister of Bangladesh) and Jayant Sinha (Minister of State for Finance from India) arrived in the Capital to attend the meeting, according to Under Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Lal Bahadur Khatri.

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala will inaugurate the meeting, which will be chaired by Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat, it is learnt.

Agendas of the meeting include discussion on cooperation in financial sector among the SAARC member states, review of progress in implementation of the recommendations of the Sixth Meeting, preparation of a proposal to allow greater flow of financial capital, intra-regional long-term investment and SAARC's finance.
