Over 1,000 security personnel to be mobilised in Bisket Jatra

BHAKTAPUR: The Bhaktapur Metropolitan Police Range is set to mobilise over 1,000 security personnel for peaceful celebration of the Bisket Jatra, which is marked as the start of Nepali New Year by the locals of Bhaktapur.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Rana, security personnel including those of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force are to be mobilised to maintain law and order for the festival.

Police would also be mobilised in civvies, SP Rana shared.

Lights and CCTVs have been installed in thoroughfares of the city to inspect unruly behaviour, he said, adding that stern action would be taken against the miscreants.

Also as a part of the preparation, the construction of 35-feet high wooden chariot of Bhairavnath has begun while the chariot of Bhadrakali has already been built.
