Cops rescue hostage from Baneshwor; nab 2

KATHMANDU: Police said on Friday that they arrested two men over the charge of holding a 23-year-old man hostage at Naya Baneshwor of Kathmandu.

They also rescued the hostage Naveen Kumar Chaudhary (23), a permanent resident of Rajbiraj-1 of Saptari district on Thursday.

The suspects have been identified as 23-year-old Santosh Kumar Yadav and 20-year-old Niraj Kumar Yadav, permanent residents of Siraha.

According to police, Chaudhary was held hostage from Aloknagar, KMC-34 and taken to Gaushala of the Capital on Wednesday.

After receiving a tip-off, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, had raided the suspects' residence in Naya Baneshwor and rescued Chaudhary while arresting the duo.

The investigation into the incident is underway, said police.
