The domestic market experienced substantial surges in precious metal prices on Thursday, with gold and silver reaching new heights. Gold price soared by Rs 1,600 per tola, while silver saw an increase of Rs 60 points.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, fine gold is currently being traded at Rs 140,000 per tola, marking a notable rise from yesterday's rate of Rs 138,400 per tola.
This surge comes after a period of fluctuation, with the last record high price observed on April 21 at Rs 139,300 per tola. Yesterday alone, gold prices rose by Rs 1,000 per tola.
Similarly, tejabi gold is being traded at Rs 139,300 per tola compared to Rs 137,750 per tola on Wednesday.
In tandem with the remarkable increase in gold prices, the silver market also experienced a surge to record highs on Thursday, rising by Rs 60 to reach Rs 1,805 per tola. This marks a substantial increase from its Wednesday rate of Rs 1,745 per tola.
