Nepali Congress district leaders to discuss local body restructuring

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress party has decided to discuss the issue of local body restructuring to implement the Constitution with its district presidents.

The party has called a meeting of the district presidents for a broad discussion and interaction with the district leaders on coming Sunday, August 21, according to NC Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.

The meeting would also discuss other contemporary political issues, according to Paudel.

Major parties have expedited discussions on the issue as the Local Body Restructuring Commission is approaching its deadline.

Recently, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has also announced to hold an all-party meeting to forge political consensus over the issue.
