KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari approved resignation tendered by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday.

Earlier, PM Oli had submitted the resignation in accordance with Article 298.8 (a) of the Constitution, according to the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas.

Meanwhile, the President has assigned the Oli-led outgoing Cabinet to carry out daily administrative functions as per Article 298.10 till formation of a new government, the President's Office's assistant spokesperson Keshav Prasad Ghimire informed in a statement.
