Three held with drugs

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons in possession of drugs in the Kathmandu Valley. Ranjan Shreevastav, 19, of Birgunj and Bikas Napit, 28, Thahiti, were arrested a team deployed from the Narcotics Control Bureau from a footpath in Kalanki on Sunday with 20 gram heroin and 396 ampules diazepam, buprenorphine and phenergan. Similarly, Sinar Paudel, 29, of Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City-19, was arrested with 10 ampules of diazepam, buprenorphine and phenergan, police said.

Car-hit kills child

KATHMANDU: An 18-month-old child died after a car hit her in Bankali on Monday. Amrita Budhathoki had sustained critical injuries after being hit by the four-wheeler (Ba 6 Cha 4 771) at the parking area of Bankali. She was rushed to Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, where she died during treatment. The girl’s family from Gelu-8 of Ramechhap district lives in Jayabageshwori.

Rescued man dies

KATHMANDU: A man, who was rescued by police from a street, died during treatment on Monday. Ishwar Rai, 36, Khulaltar, Sankarapur-14, was rescued from a street and rushed to Sankhu-based Life Care Hospital for treatment on Sunday night. But, he died at the hospital.
