BHOJPUR: A 33-year-old groom and the matchmaker who helped him get hitched to a minor girl have been arrested on charge of child marriage in Bhojpur district of eastern Nepal.

Police said Dik Bahadur Bhujel (33) of Dalgaun VDC-4 had married a 13-year-0ld girl from Chhinamakhu on June 10 with the help of Samjhana  Bhujel (23) of the same village.

According to the District Police Office, the girl has been handed over to her parents.

They will be booked as per the existing laws that ban child marriage, police said.
